Matt has been presenting and commentating on Gymnastics for many years was part of the Olympic broadcasting team for London 2012 and Beijing 2008.  As well as bringing the Gymnastic action live from the North Greenwich Arena he was part of the studio team presenting all the events happening throughout the Summer Games every day.

As a boy Matt attended a gymnastic club in the north east where he grew up and regularly trained with the National Squad at Lilleshall.  Back in the days when apparatus were scored out of 10, Matt was on the only gymnast from the north east to achieve a perfect 10 which he received in the National Finals on Floor.

After having to give up his dream of competing for Great Britain in the Olympics due to ill health, he went on to become British Champion in Sports Acrobatics before having to stop competitive sport completely.

Matt also hosted the Olympic Handover Concert in Trafalgar Square after the Beijing Olympics.

He is proud to be part of the BBC Sport team.
