Thankyou

A massive thank you to everyone that supported Matt on his amazing Rickshaw Challenge. He completed the 484 miles to make it back to the studio in time to kick off Children in Need night raising a huge amount of money along the way. The total now stands at just over 1.9 million pounds and we hear that money is still being counted! Congratulations to the whole Rickshaw Challenge team and all those that donated money, food and saddle sore cream to Matt.

About the Rickshaw Challenge

On Friday 11 November, Matt will set off on his epic journey by rickshaw from Edinburgh to London.

The total journey of 484 miles starts on the Castle Esplanade in Edinburgh and will culminate in London during the The One Show's BBC Children in Need live special on the night of the Appeal, Friday 18 November. He will be cycling up to ten hours a day and burning a daily total of up to 9000 calories.

Throughout the journey, Matt will be conducting interviews with celebrity passengers and each day you'll be able to cheer him on at his daily start and finish lines. When Matt starts you'll be able to track his progress by clicking on the map on the right, and once he crosses the first finishing line on Friday 11 November, you will be able to click below to get a summary of his journey each day in clips, images and a summary of how Matt feels about his journey that day.

  • Day 1 - Edinburgh to Hawick (53.5 Miles)
  • Day 2 - Hawick to Hexham (59.2 Miles)
  • Day 3 - Hexham to Barnard Castle (49.0 Miles)
